Emerson Innovation Discovery Lab

The Emerson Innovation Discovery Lab at Ozarks Technical Community College (OTCC) is a new education and interactive experience focused on changing the image of manufacturing, and on building the foundations for creating and encouraging a diverse workforce. Aimed at K-12 and college students, visitors are invited to join the world of manufacturing and make an impact on the world’s future and on their own lives.

Ravenswood Studio fabricated and installed the various educational exhibit sections, Team Up!, Create It!, Build It!, and Produce It! Each section features interactive gameplay, custom case work, and illustrated graphics to show students examples of manufacturing innovations, from everyday objects to a robotic arm.

With the hands-on interactives being a primary focus of each section, Ravenswood Studio went through several rounds of engineering and prototyping in our fabrication shop and on site to ensure that each element was ready for play. Materials such as steel, aluminum, and tiles covered in industrial-coated flooring paint, enhance the technical and mechanical vibes of the space.
